NY Times / AMZN deal
Here’s an article from The Verge about The New York Times recent deal with Amazon do deliver its “editorial content to a variety of Amazon customer experiences,”
I shudder to think how little The Gray Lady is getting paid. However, I hope the AI Experience delivering sports news (?) and recipes!!! to Alexa users is good.
I read over the comments and one person asked why didn’t Amazon just license this content from The Washington Post, the newspaper Bezon owns? I think it’s the recipes, which are very popular and even I at times with I had a NYT subscription to access.
I suppose then if my Doppelganger (his name is Bill Winters by the way) is at BestBuy considering whether he should buy a Google Home or Alexa he might choose Alexa, becaue he would gain access to New York Times recipes. Or will it be a separate upsell ontop of Alexa? I’m not sure and in full disclosure I own a Google Home device. “Meh” is how I find Google Home Speaker, but the dull details behind that are fodder for a different blog post.

UltraEdit
I first used UltraEdit sometime in the late 90s. I loved it back then. When I went to work for TQuist in 2003 I purchased another copy. I just now retired my last XP system, and so I've decided to get the latest copy. I hope it's aged well. They've changed...
